Ida Myers was born in Poland, emigrated to the U.S. as a child, and grew up in Chicago. After graduating from the University of Chicago and a brief stint of teaching, she married her college beau and moved to Los Angeles, where he pursued his career as an aeronautical engineer, and where their daughter and son were born. She worked for the government as an executive secretary, after which she continued teaching, earned an MA degree from UCLA, and was a freelance writer in her free time. Her publications include poetry, drama, profiles, and critiques. In 1988 she emigrated to Israel to be near her daughter and family.
