The Living Nach Vol. 3: Sacred Writings presents a clear, modern English translation of Ketuvim, the Writings section of Tanach, based on traditional Jewish sources. Continuing the approach established by Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan in The Living Torah, this volume combines an accessible translation with explanatory notes and supporting material to help readers understand the biblical text.
This volume contains Psalms (Tehillim), Proverbs (Mishlei), Job (Iyov), the Five Megillot, Daniel, Ezra, Nehemiah, and Chronicles (Divrei Hayamim). Together, these books encompass poetry and wisdom literature, prayer, historical narrative, prophecy and visions, and the five scrolls associated with Jewish holidays and observances.
Designed to make the text accessible while remaining rooted in Jewish tradition, The Living Nach Vol. 3 is a valuable resource for individual study, students, educators, and anyone seeking an approachable English edition of Ketuvim.
