Eclectic and captivating, To Be a Princess explores adventures from high school romance in the sixties to the complex cyber-science reality of the present day. The stories range from teenage mischief in the naïve, revolutionary sixties to the humourous misgivings of students’ travel and odd jobs; from soldiers’ battles in the Middle East to terror fighter’s impossible choices. This prose collection reaches the snow-capped peaks of the Peruvian Andes, Paris’s working-class bars and the seventies’ free-love scene, the underwater realm in tropical seas and the unmarred vineyards of rural Greece. Although largely fictional, these short stories are based on true event. Reviews: Based on actual experience, free from melodramatic heightening, these stories take us off the beaten track in Israel and elsewhere. They explore…the value of hard-won special know-how in various spheres of modern life. Leona Toker Department of English Literature, Chairperson, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
