A Restatement of Rabbinic Civil Law by Rabbi Emanuel Quint

Rabbi Emanuel Quint (1930-2018) was a rabbi and lawyer who co-founded the Jerusalem Institute of Jewish Law with Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz. His multi-volume A Restatement of Rabbinic Civil Law sets out in English the civil law of Hoshen Mishpat, the section of the Shulhan Aruch dealing with monetary law, following its chapter order and drawing on later commentaries. It is written for the educated layperson as well as the advanced student.

Each volume covers specific topics: Volume I treats the laws of judges and evidence, Volume II the laws of loans, Volume VI partnership, agents and sales, and Volume VIII lost and found objects and inheritance.
